How can I set Outlook 2013 to automatically remove cancelled meetings

$

Looking into Outlook 2013 as it has a single option for "auto accepting meeting requests and remove canceled meetings" under: File->Options-Calendar->Resource scheduling

Under this option meeting requests are automatically accepted. I don't want this. I want to do the following:

  • Remove canceled meetings from the calender automatically
  • Delete Canceled:... meeting emails from my Inbox
  • Don't do anything with meeting requests.

Is it possible?

Thanks,

Parez

Hi all!

I've read another posts in technet forums and google, but none helped me... Im installing office web app 2013 in windows 2008 r2 sp1 to use with lync 2013... my lync 2013 works fine (except office web apps resources, of course) and after install all pre-requisites (modules and patches), the office web app itself, i get a error when i run powershell command (both elevated mode or not):

New-OfficeWebAppsFarm -InternalUrl "https://owa.local.domain" –CertificateName "xxxx" (where xxxx is my cert friendly name, as shown in IIS).

The error message is:

Co-authoring Limits

To whom it may concern,

I need to know the limits in co-authoring services within O365 services, specifically, how many people can edit one document at the same time?

Thank you very much in advance,

Office Deployment Tool Config for 2013 Pro Plus

$

Hi!

   I'm trying to update an installation of Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 and wonder if somebody could help me with the correct Product ID to use for the Office Deployment Tool configuration.xml file?  Almost all the examples seem to use O365ProPlusRetail.

   The configuration documentation here discusses only Office 365: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219426%28v=office.15%29.aspx

   But it links to this page, which lists product IDs, but no description (thank you not very much!): http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2842297/en-us

   There's a "ProfessionalRetail" there; elsewhere I've seen a "ProPlusRetail" which isn't listed there, and I'm hoping that if I get the right Product ID I can get this cantankerous update process to work!

   Thanks much,
       Rob

Upgrade Click to Run Version Older than 15.0.4569.1507

We currently have an Office 365 installation older than 15.0.4569.1507 on all our SOEs

These SOEs are managed by Windows Intune & we want to manage the Office updates ourselves.

We've created an Intune package that we know executes correctly with the configuration.xml file

We have downloaded that latest version  15.0.4641.1002 (Aug2014) and have placed the download in a network share.

My configuration.xml file looks like this

<Configuration>

<Add SourcePath="\\Domain.com\Distribution\Intune\Updates\O365" OfficeClientEdition="32">

<Product ID="O365ProPlusRetail">

<Language ID="en-us" />

</Product>

</Add>

<Updates Enabled="TRUE" UpdatePath="\\Domain.com\Distribution\Intune\Updates\O365" />

<Display Level="None" AcceptEULA="TRUE" />

<Logging Level="Standard" Path="C:\" />

<!--  <Property Name="AUTOACTIVATE" Value="1" />  -->

</Configuration>

So, when I deploy the setup.exe /configure configure.xml It does not update Office.

The exe has successfully run as I can see the log file

Even the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\ClientX64folder does not contain the officeclicktorun.exe

Not sure if I have to update first to version 15.0.4569.1507 first or what.

Any help will be appreciated

Skydrive for business and Office Upload Center broken after September 2014 Office Update (yesterday 10 september 2014)

Hi!

Before September 2014 Office Update (yesterday) Skydrive for business and Office Upload Center worked seamlessly. After the updates, both the program stopped working. Microsoft Office Upload Center says "The Microsoft Office Document Cache encountered a problem and needs to be repaired.".

I encountered this problem last year, but that time I installed Onedrive for business from O365 platform against Office 2013 professional plus. Now the versions are correct: standalone version of Onedrive for business and Office 2013 pro plus (worked without problems for months).

Unfortunately this is the second time in three months that microsoft updates change the behaviour of Onedrive for business(see at http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/dd43a2ef-26a9-449a-b72c-9716880b875d/ask-to-onedrive-for-business-developers-to-modify-a-recently-changed-behaviour-of-application-since?forum=officeitpro#dd43a2ef-26a9-449a-b72c-9716880b875d) or worse, as this time, disrupts the correct functionality: the result is a lot of time wasted and a lot of problems!

This is the result:

Onedrive for business broken

I also tryed to uninstall KB2889866 but no change in behaviour.

Thanks, Diegus.

How to change MS Office Web Apps Server 2013 product key

Hi,

I have MS Office Web Apps server 2013 installed as a separate farm (obviously), without editing license. Now i have a product key that enables to use editing within Office Web Apps 2013 and would like to change it.

How can i change Product Key for MS Office Web Apps Server 2013?

Does it require re-installation?

I couldn't find any topics in regards to that over the internet. Nor on technet. I would appreciate any help!

Project and Visio 2013 will not install after installation of Office 2013

Hi Guys,

I've installed Office Home and Business 2013 eight times now on a new PC. All is fine.

I then install either Viso 2013 or Project 2013 and Office automatically uninstalls from the machine with no notice.

Is incredibly frustrating. I've tried every combination, install order etc and even Microsoft tech's (x2) haven't been able to get past installing Office.

I have never ever had a problem installing these programs before, don't understand why now.

Anyone able to help?

Cheers

Ben

Outlook 2013 Rules issue when more than 50 rules exist ("The rules on this computer do not match the rules on Microsoft Exchange").

I think I may have found a bug.

My Outlook 2013 profile has more than 75 rules. When I started testing Outlook 2013, I got the message "The rules on this computer do not match the rules on Microsoft Exchange. Only one set of rules can be kept. You will usually want to keep the rules on the server. Which rules do you want to keep?"

I did the following troubleshooting:

1. I created a new Outlook profile. This didn't fix the issue.

2. I exported my rules, cleared them using "outlook /cleanrules", then reimported the rules. This didn't fix the issue.

3. I cleared the rules again (outlook /cleanrules), then hand-entered the rules. This also didn't fix the issue.

4. I reduced the number of rules to less than 50. This FIXED the problem.

5. When I entered rule #51, the problem came back. When I removed ruled #51, the problem was again fixed.

Does anyone know of a fix or workaround to this issue?

Thanks.

Hi,

I've been trying for weeks now to try to get Office Professional Plus 2013 to install on Windows 8 Pro. My system has been running perfectly otherwise.

When I try to install Office 2013, I get the following message (excerpt from log file):

Existing Office365 Tenancy STANDALONE - moving to hybrid...

$

Hi guys,

We have Exchange 2013 on premise, working fine, serving users with our main domain. (domain.com)

We also have a separate Office365 tenancy, with a subset of users that have a subdomain (sub.domain.com). These users logon to Office365 with credentials stored on just Office365 - they are not federated with our on-premise Exchange / AD.

We are now looking at merging these two environment e.g. moving to a true Hybrid, with the goal being that the users we have on Office365 can have our primary domain as an email address (domain.com) as well as their current subdomain address.

There doesn't seem to be much online about this - it's a slightly unusual situation... If I was to implement the usual plan of ADFS and DirSync and integrate our on-prem, what happens to the existing accounts on Office365? Would they stay as authenticating as they are - e.g. against the current MS accounts? If so can I move them so they are authenticated using an AD user object via federation? How would one do this? Would this just "magically" happen if there is a matching AD user object, could I match the account using the GUI or would I need to run a PowerShell command?

Thanks - Steve

I went onto TechNet today to try and download a 60 day trial of office pro.

It gave me a product key, usual 25 digit, and said my trial was downloading.

Despite it saying it was completed, nothing has compiled in my downloads, and I am kinda confused as to what I am supposed to do to use the product key and get started

Installation runs everytime we start Outlook 2013 application in Terminal services...

We have just installed a new 2008 R2 Terminal session host server with Office 2013 for test.

Until now we have 2 issue regarding this.

1. Everytime we start Outlook 2013, it runs an installation (Microsoft Office 64-bit Components 2013).
Is this a bug? (Office was installed in install mode)

2. All Office 2013 application started from the RDWEB, starts in full screen, so you cannot see the taskbar on a local Windows 7 pc?

Someone please advise me what to do?

Hi All

I am currently trying to get my Office 365 tenant synchronized with my domain, we recently had an issue with the original server that we had DirSync installed on, and had to scrap this, so I have setup a new one. The installation has gone well, and the services seem to be behaving as they should be, and DirSync is trying to do its synch every three hours.

However this is were I start to see the following errors, and when checking my online tenant, its clear that the server has not synchronized any new accounts. Could anybody out there please advise?

See the error below:

Problem using an msp file to add features

$

I have an existing Office 2013 ProPlus installation which has been customised using the OCT and deployed using setup.exe with an msp file in the default location.

Now I need to add a feature (specifically, the Lync client which was not deployed in the original rollout).

I created a new standalone msp file by importing the existing one into the OCT, making the changes, and saving - so far so good.

But every time I run this new msp using msiexec /p \\server\share\mspfilename I get "Error 1304. Error writing to file Policy.14.0.Microsoft.BusinessData.dll Verify you have access to that directory". The process is running as a Domain Admin.

What "directory" does it mean? Where is (or should be) this file? How can I find out more about what's going on here?

Office 365 Internal DNS issues

$

I have recently started doing some migrations from a hosted exchange 2007 server onto office 365 and have ran into some issues.

Since we have alot of users still using the hosted exchange (slowly moving users over 1 by 1 to 365) I have not fully turned off the local server and therefore had some issues with the autodiscover when setting up my email in outlook 2013.

I instead used the domain and email given to me by microsoft (the <user>@<name>.onmicrosoft.com)   This at the least allowed me to be able to add my user and sync my email, but it presented me with another issue. Outlook and now lync ask me for credentials every few mins.  I can cancel the password prompt and give it a few then it will start syncing again.

After some research i found that it may be my internal DNS preventing seamless communication. I added the CNAME and SRV records to my local server and the issue still presents itself.

Anyone run into this issue and have a resolution? I have tried killing my local credentials on the machine im using outlook on just in case, and verified with all the proper office tools that the autodiscover service is working.  I have synced up my phone in seconds with no issues as well.

Any input would be great!

Thanks!

Excel opens 2 instances unexpectedly

Hi,

I have Office 2013 H&B installed on a Win7 Pro x64 machine, and when I open an Excel workbook (from say, the desktop) it spawns two instances of Excel, one blank (no opened workbooks) and one instance with the workbook I intended to open.

If I just open Excel.exe one instance opens as expected; the issue only occurs when I open an already saved workbook.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks

[Outlook 2013] Apps for Office and Internet Explorer 11 (IE11)

$

We have the following configuration:

  • Windows 7 Professional,
  • Internet Explorer 11,
  • Microsoft Office 2013 (32-bit),
  • Microsoft Exchange 2013 CU6,
  • Symantec Enterprise Vault 11.

Patch level Microsoft Until 03-oct-2014, so very very recent.

What is the problem, in Exchange its possible to use "Office Web Apps" for integration with OWA. This works very good and we dont have any problems with OWA and the Office Web Apps within OWA Enterprise client.

But, in Outlook 2013, almost every "App for Office" crashes with a popup from Internet Explorer 11. When we open the App, we get a loading.... and after a while A popup with the message "Internet Exporer stopped working".

This is with every App i tested. And it can be reproduced.

What we tried:

  • Proxy settings;
  • Re-install Office 2013;
  • Internet Zone settings;
  • Browser compatibility modus with zones;
  • Reset internet explorer settings;
  • Various reg-hacks for IE security;
  • GPO settings for untrusted locations of Office Web Apps.

And lucky? No.

So we went back to IE9, and it works like a charm. No problems at all. But Unfortunately, IE9 is not an option due to company apps written for IE10+.

But when it works outside Outlook 2013 in IE11, but not inside outlook with IE11, there must be a problem somewhere with Outlook 2013/IE 11 integration. And actually, the currents Apps we don't need in Outlook 2013 (until snd quarter 2015, then we need them).

So for this time we configured "Block Apps for Office" GPO setting and depoyed it. And... In Every Office components Apps are disabled, but NOT in Outlook. So the GPO is not working for Outlook.

How to solve?
