I am interested to purchase Office 365 Pro Plus package for my organization which comes with Microsoft Office 2013.

Office 365 pro plus comes with ability to install in 5 machines. If i purchase 1 user license and install it in 5 machines in my organization then will this be License infringement or it is OK to use concurrently.

Dear All,

I have office 2013 running on my company network and there is a requirement of office picture manager - which is unavailable in 2013 but available in 2010. If I only install 'Office picture manager' from office 2010 additional to the complete installation of office 2013, both get activated separately, is it acceptable as per license terms, or does it count as 2 license utilized? 

Client systems - Windows 7 (only one instance per PC)

Licenses - Windows and Office

License type - Open volume with software assurance.

Office 365 download not working

I can't download the office 365 setup files with the new setup version (15.0.4649.1000).

When I try, the setup just shows me the help text.

I run the following command line: Setup.X86.en-us_O365ProPlusRetail_c2077671-734c-4db0-9b14-3a0e30b2a9c4_TX_PR_.exe /download setup.xml

This commandline used to work without problems with the old setup.exe (15.0.4623.1001).

From what I notice from both logs, it seems the command line parser isn’t detecting the setup.xml argument.

I need to ensure that Word 2013 defaults tracking to "All Markup" I don't see an option for that in the OCT. Am I overlooking it or is this not possible? If I can't do it in OCT how can I do it?

The issue has continued from Office 2010 pro plus to Pro plus 2013, when EU does several quickprints the process of Open print closes doesn't complete correctly. The default printer is HP Laserjet m601. I have four users with same set up this is the only machine that hangs. Must bring up task manager and end process to continue to work. sometimes it will print multiple pages ontop of itself overlapping text onto one page.

Optiplex 990, Win7, 64 bit.  Issue initially began in office 2010, upgraded to 2013 problem followed, reloaded OD and still continuing.

We are doing a rather large Office 365 Proplus deployment using click-to-run via SCCM. We have the relevant group policys configured for the most part but we can't figure out how to get rid of the Default File Types dialogue box that pops up during the first run of any of the Office applications. It asks the user if he/she wants to use Office XML or OpenOffice document formats.

When using the MSI-version and a custom install the administrator can answer this before creating the deployment package, but this is obviously not possible using C2R.

We have tried to set HKEY_USERS\<user_SID>\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\General /v ShownFileFmtPrompt to 1, but it doesn't work. We have also set the default file type for each application but on first run, the dialogue box still shows.

How can we achieve a simple deployment from a user perspective? The picture below is the setting we want to configure.

We had an employee who was employed in market over in France. He was told to purchase his own laptop and software and claim it back on expenses. He bought a laptop and all software he needed, which included a copy of Office 2013 Professional. This person has recently left the company and returned all the equipment, laptop, software, licences, etc back to us.

The laptop has been flattened and reloaded and I want to load the copy of Office on to another PC, however, I can't now activate the copy to use. I used the 'activate using a product key' option and inserted the product key we have on the little blue card, but when it starts it asks for the email address associated with the office subscription. I don't know what this is as the person has left the company. I've tried using his old company email address, but then it asks for a password.

Any help on this gratefully received, as we currently have a fully paid up version of Office 2013 which we can't use.

I have deployed Office 2013 on a few laptops (some old, some new, all running Win7 x64) without any problems.

I have some users who use dual monitors, connected using USB-to-VGA devices by (among others) Star-Tek, HP, and Matrox.

In every case we've tried, the Office app seems to display OK on the external screen, but mouse clicks and keystrokes don't reach it, ie you can't actually do anything at all. Sometimes the display is corrupted, ie windows are not properly drawn, pieces are missing, especially if you drag the pane around on the monitor.

Drag the open app window back onto the local laptop display and it starts to work normally. No error messages are seen.

What's going on here?

I know O2013 needs DirectX 10, but I doubt these old laptop displays support that properly anyway. The hardware is IBM Thinkpad T61's at the oldest - on their builtin display all is well - but we've seen the same effect on newer Thinkpads (Edge 15, Edge 320, Edge 520), HP ProBook, Dell Latitude, in fact every single one I have tried.

I don't find any references to this issue on line, can anyone provide a pointer? Just now it's a show-stopper for deploying 2013.

I have a subscription of email hosting by outlook.office365.com hosted in Singapore, now i am changing the subscription whereas hosting would be in India. Appart from chaing the MX Records for DNS purpose and creating the users on instance provided in India, how can i migrate emails which are there in currently hosted instance in Singapore. Mails are configuerd as IMAP/MAPI and not POP3, so all my emails are still residing on email server and needs to be migrated to new instance as post i switch old instance would not be accessible.

We need to install Office 2013 Pro+ on a MS terminal server.  I've been reading around and have determined we need a volume license copy of O2013 and enough licenses for the number of desktops accessing it.  Just a couple of questions...

Does O2013 have to be installed on the client desktop?  If not, how does one install the license without installing O2013?

I have a user on a desktop in the office with O2013 installed and licensed.  This user goes home and connects to the office network/terminal server using their home PC over a VPN.  Do we need 2 licenses for this one user, one for the work PC and one for the user's home PC?

I have recently started doing some migrations from a hosted exchange 2007 server onto office 365 and have ran into some issues. 

Since we have alot of users still using the hosted exchange (slowly moving users over 1 by 1 to 365) I have not fully turned off the local server and therefore had some issues with the autodiscover when setting up my email in outlook 2013.  

I instead used the domain and email given to me by microsoft (the <user>@<name>.onmicrosoft.com)   This at the least allowed me to be able to add my user and sync my email, but it presented me with another issue. Outlook and now lync ask me for credentials every few mins.  I can cancel the password prompt and give it a few then it will start syncing again. 

After some research i found that it may be my internal DNS preventing seamless communication. I added the CNAME and SRV records to my local server and the issue still presents itself. 

Anyone run into this issue and have a resolution? I have tried killing my local credentials on the machine im using outlook on just in case, and verified with all the proper office tools that the autodiscover service is working.  I have synced up my phone in seconds with no issues as well.

Just wanted to highlight an issue we've seen at my organisation where an MSP file is does not fully install the Outlook 2013 branch where it is modifying an existing installation where that branch is not installed.

The scenario is that Office 2013 SP1 has already been installed using an msp file which does not install access, outlook and lync branches. It also hides and locks these features. 

We're then following this base install at a later date and enabling Outlook using another msp file. Despite the msp file installing all features for the branch, Outlook 2013 *does* then appear, but mapiph.dll (and potentially other files) are missing from the installation. 

One symptom of the missing mapiph.dll file is that local searching within outlook does not work, such as from the exchange offline cache.

Our workaround has been to enable these branches using config.xml instead. For example...

I've having issues activating Office 365 proplus , the scenario is , we have previously installed office 2013 proplus (volume licence) and now are removing this and installing Office 365 proplus via the deployment tool, all installs well until you need to activate office and we get the following error:

"We are unable to connect right now. Please check your network and try again"

I've try the Fixit removal tool to get rid of the remnants of Office 2013 , that hasn't fixed it, i've tried the opss.vbs script to remove old licence keys , that didn't work.

Has anyone got any other ideas on what could be causing this issue?
