Migration to office 365 via cut over, can I add SSO after the fact?
I have only performed cut over migrations with Exchange server(s) and the AD forest in the same AD forest, using dirsync, SSO or ADFS, etc., in previous migrations.
Here is the situation:
Site A has an AD forest, I want to use this forest with SSO/AD sync to Office 365 - company.local
Site B has an AD forest, this site houses my Exchange 2010 instances - company.dom
I want to cut over migrate site b (company.dom) to office 365.
Post cut over I am wondering if I can SSO/DIRSYNC integrate company.local (with proper AD changes)
Everything I find is not clear to me if this will work.
office pro 2013 download: setup.exe "module could not be found"
Have downloaded Microsoft Office Professional 2013 4 times. Takes about 7 minutes. Then when I click on setup.exe, the computer (windows 8.1) asks if I want to let Microsoft make changes to my computer (this is normal for a software download). I say yes and I get a popup that says "the specified module could not be found". You have other threads with this same notation but none seem to be with a software download so I am starting a new thread.
This was downloaded from Microsoft Volume Licensing. There was a note that I would need to download the Microsoft webapps something or other and I tried downloading that as well, but the download name was the same as the other download, and the outcome and resulting error message also were the same.
Concerned because no where was I asked for any license key or setup key or anything else.
Any advice would be greatl welcomed.
Thank you

Microsoft Account vs. Office 365 (Enterprise / Education) Account?
I am trying to get current answer to the question of Microsoft Account (Windows Store, Xbox, OneDrive and anything other than Office 365) vs. an Office 365 account created via Enterprise / Education setup. It appears that you are able to have two accounts with same email / login but that are not linked? Further you can't link them even if you want to? Is this correct, is there circumstances where it isn't true? It is there a TechNet / KB article that has a matrix of these two account hierarchies and what they do and don't do?
In my case I have AD connected to Office 365 and I want to try and give good information to users if they had previously created a Microsoft account with same email address. Thanks for any info.

I have tried everything I can think of, and everything on every thread I've found on related topics. No luck. If I try to start the service myself via services.msc I get the following message:
The Windows Font Cache Service service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some Services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs. Any assistance anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated!
How to Remove or Hide the 'Manage Apps' button in Outlook
Hi,
Is it possible to remove or hid or disable the 'Manage Apps' button that you see within the 'Info' tab in Outlook?
I've had a look through the GPOs and cant find anything referencing this button
Does anyone know the ControlID of this button so that I can hide it within a GPO?
thanks

Skydrive for business and Office Upload Center broken after September 2014 Office Update (yesterday 10 september 2014)
Hi!
Before September 2014 Office Update (yesterday) Skydrive for business and Office Upload Center worked seamlessly. After the updates, both the program stopped working. Microsoft Office Upload Center says "The Microsoft Office Document Cache encountered a problem and needs to be repaired.".
I encountered this problem last year, but that time I installed Onedrive for business from O365 platform against Office 2013 professional plus. Now the versions are correct: standalone version of Onedrive for business and Office 2013 pro plus (worked without problems for months).
Unfortunately this is the second time in three months that microsoft updates change the behaviour of Onedrive for business(see at http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/dd43a2ef-26a9-449a-b72c-9716880b875d/ask-to-onedrive-for-business-developers-to-modify-a-recently-changed-behaviour-of-application-since?forum=officeitpro#dd43a2ef-26a9-449a-b72c-9716880b875d) or worse, as this time, disrupts the correct functionality: the result is a lot of time wasted and a lot of problems!
This is the result:
I also tryed to uninstall KB2889866 but no change in behaviour.
Thanks, Diegus.
Office 2013 OCT Outlook Bug Observation
Just wanted to highlight an issue we've seen at my organisation where an MSP file is does not fully install the Outlook 2013 branch where it is modifying an existing installation where that branch is not installed.
The scenario is that Office 2013 SP1 has already been installed using an msp file which does not install access, outlook and lync branches. It also hides and locks these features.
We're then following this base install at a later date and enabling Outlook using another msp file. Despite the msp file installing all features for the branch, Outlook 2013 *does* then appear, but mapiph.dll (and potentially other files) are missing from the installation.
One symptom of the missing mapiph.dll file is that local searching within outlook does not work, such as from the exchange offline cache.
Our workaround has been to enable these branches using config.xml instead. For example...
<Configuration Product="ProPlus"><Display Level="none" CompletionNotice="no" SuppressModal="yes" AcceptEula="yes" /><OptionState Id="OUTLOOKFiles" State="local" Children="force" /><Setting Id="SETUP_REBOOT" Value="Never" /></Configuration>
As an aside, the msp files both had different names. I'm aware this is required.
Just thought I'd put this out there!
Office 2013 Crashing After Printing to HP Laser Printers
I have a customer with an HP Elite computer, Windows 8, and Office 2013 (perpetual license, NOT Office 365). The first page of a print job to an HP laser printer comes out fine. However, it will not print another page. Word or Excel hangs, and then asks to "Restart, or Close". After the first page, if I go to Task Manager, I see "Windows Host Process (Rundll32) Not Responding". Also when I close Windows 8, I get the message hpmsn140.dll or hpmsn09.dll "Not Responding".
This problem does not occur with other applications.
This problem does not occur with other non-HP LaserJet printers.
This problem occurs with both USB and network printers.
The only way to clear the problem is rebooting the computer.
I have tried the Windows 8 driver, HP's PCL 6 driver from their website, and HP Universal Print Driver from their website. All have the same issue.
I have tried logging in as Administrator, as well as, the Standard User. Both logins have the problem.
Any help would be appreciated.

App-V and Microsoft Office 2013 Home Premium O365 Edition - Is it possible?
Hello,
Over the past couple of days I have been trying to sequence Office into an App-V app. As far as I can tell, the app is created successfully, the problem is publishing the app and actually installing it on clients. I have tried to get this to work using multiple methods, and the commonality between all of them is that the XML files seem to be unreadable or corrupt? Here are a couple of screenshots that show the problem.
App-V Management Console:
PoweShell:
I have followed various guides, and tried sequencing the app on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. Has someone had success deploying HomePremium using App-V? If so, can some one tell me where I'm going wrong? Any help is appreciated.
Thank you for your time.

Remote Desktop Service activation of Office Pro Plus 2013
The Activation of Office Pro Plus 2013 is not "sticking" in a 2008 R2 RDP Session. Office Pro Plus 2013 is installed on the RDS Host. Users authorized to access via their Office 365 Pro Plus Subscriptions.
Office Pro+ 2013 is installed and activated with appropriate MAK. Every few days or so a handful of RDS users are requested to activate the Office they are using during their sessions.
Any guidance would be phenomenal!
Thanks

Install Office 365 on different hard drive
I have recently subscribed to Office 365 home. I am finding it increasingly frustrating that Microsoft are making assumptions for people and taking away choice. Do I need to remind Microsoft of all the good assumptions they have made in years past?
So, I have an SSD to run my OS nice and fast, and a 2Tb drive for storing data and software. I have seen the related post to this here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/3689fc35-0523-4868-8e4d-e6feb93540be/installing-office-365-on-a-different-hard-drive-to-that-of-the-windows-installation?forum=officesetupdeploy
Would it be so difficult to request the user for advanced installation options?
The related post makes several assumptions, the most important being that your end customers are comfortable with regedit and creating entries.
I also note that a Microsoft staff moderator has marked his own answer as correct. Surely the marking of a question as correct can only be performed by the user posing the question?
Please answer this question with accuracy and complete instructions applicable to both advanced and inexperienced users alike. Remember there are 2 operating systems currently in mainstream support, so do not assume Windows 8 for all.
Thanks,
Paul
Outlook 2013 crashes when minimising a calendar group when one of the calendars is still open
I have several calendar groups in Outlook 2013, if I am showing one or more calendars from a group, then click on the small triangle to minimise the group, Outlook crashes. This happens every time, not intermittently, with every group, and any calendar within it. I've just checked with a colleague and he has exactly the same issue. Is this a known issue?
I am running Windows 8.1, office version 15.0.4551.1004
Thanks in advance...

Licensing Office Home and Business 2013
I know this has been talk about a bit...
If I have 30 users to setup with Office 2013 H&B, do you recommend I setup a Public folder on my Exchange server, mail enable it, create a Microsoft account for the PC(email addr to match an SMTP alias of that Public folder), confirm the MS acct via the email to that public folder and go through the install...?
