Redirect Office 365 Clients to New Local File Share for Updates

I used the ODT to download/install O365 Pro Plus on a set of PCs.  First ran "setup.exe /download configuration.xml" to get the install files to a local file share then "setup.exe /configure configuration.xml" to install.  This all worked well although I now have a need to redirect these O365 clients to a new file share so they can get any Office updates in the future (after I rerun /download on the share).  However, instead of moving the original files, I just ran /download to the new share where it now contains version 15.0.4535.1511 as opposed to my original share which has 15.0.4517.1005.

Next, on a test Win7 Pro VM, I changed "updatebaseurl" in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\15.0\ClickToRun\propertyBag to reflect the new path as suggested by a Microsoft consultant.  Did this mod yesterday afternoon but the older .1005 version still remains today.  Also, if this is related, the Office Automatic Updates scheduled task (which I believed was the mechanism that periodically checks for updates in the source location) did run on the VM this morning.  Would appreciate any ideas you guys may have because wondering whether what I'm trying to do is even possible.  Thanks in advance!
