On a Windows 10 Ops Sys I downloaded and installed Access 2013 on my home PC. At first try 2013 opened my Access 2000 databases just fine. In order to open my existing databases and having experience with Access 2010 at work I changed startup in Access 2013 as follows;
Create a database file press the “Control” and “G” keys within the database. This will open an “Immediate” window. In the “Command line” paste the following line and press enter.
DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdWorkgroupAdministrator
Now Access 2013 will start but I cannot open any database or create an new database.
The error message is;
cannot open a database with a previous version of your application
A problem occurred while Microsoft Access was communicating with the OLE server or ActiveX Control.
Close the OLE server and restart It outside of Microsoft Access. Then try the original operation again in Microsoft Access.
