Hi everyone. I am a SysAdmin who has created a deployable application in
SCCM 2012 that removes office 2010 via cmdline and then installs 2016 using
customised msp file created with the OCT. My upgrade scripts complete
successfully and all Office 2016 apps launch without issues apart from Outlook.
Outlook doesnt launch for existing cached accounts that used the machine prior
to the upgrade. When looking in the mail control panel applet there are 2
maybe 3 profiles called "backup default 1" and "backup default
2" when you remove all listed profiles outlook starts to work again. You
can also do this by deleting the registry key
"HKCU-Software-Microsoft-Office-16-Profiles". Does anyone know a way
to stop these backup profiles from being created so i dont have to think about
doing Microsoft's job for them and creating a tidy up script to remove these
keys post upgrade before any users log back in ?<o:p></o:p>
