A tale of two computers one runs Access like Molasses

We went up to Office 365 about 6 months ago, without too much pain.

I have a machine dedicated to running  long list of daily automated reports.  That machine is older, and has 8 gigs of RAM, so I bought a new machine with 16 gigs of ram, faster CPU, etc.  Configured the same way, running on the same LAN, and as far as I can tell, everything ELSE seems to run pretty normally.

A single query that I can run in less than 5 SECONDS on the old machine takes a couple of HOURS on this new faster machine.  This is not related to a specific query, but is accross the board.  During these hours of running, the access process is not consuming much CPU, mostly sitting at zero.

My data resides on a MYSQL server, local to the LAN, and I am using the exact same ODBC drivers on each.  I am about to add a dozen users to E3 so they can get MS Access, but can't do it until I know why this is happening, and those users will be running the same hardware/software combination.  It's a Lenovo Thinkpad if it makes a difference.

How can I deploy Office365 on these machines and know it will work correctly?

Phil
