Here is my situation,
I received an email from my college stating that i am able to get and use Office 365 for free. I downloaded and installed the software and it was working perfectly. after a couple of months i encountered hard drive failure, i manage to recover my files and downloaded the software again. i went through the same process of installing it as the first time and it was successful but THEN, i got notified that i needed to activate office by a certain date or I will not be able to use the program. I thought it was simple so i clicked "activate"and nothing showed up to prompt me to the activation. long story short, i longed in to my student email on outlook to later find out that my student account is not associated with Office. I discussed that with other students from my school and they are not going through the same thing. is there anything i can do to be able to use the programs again?
