Hi,
I have a customer who currently has one SBS 2003 server providing Exchange, DC, and File and print. They have approx 25 users.
We want to move them to Office 365 for Email and potentially file data into SharePoint at a later stage. Because of the numbers (although not high) I would like to enable Dir-sync to keep passwords in sync.
I would like some advice on the best approach to achieve this from a migration perspective.
My high level thoughts are:
1. Setup Office 365 accounts for users.
2. Migrate users email to Office 365 by PST method
3. Put a new 2012 R2 server on premise, create new users (making sure I add the Proxy Address attributes for the Office 365 email addresses) and migrate File and print from existing SBS server
4. Setup dir-sync from the new server to the Office 365.
Would this work? Would the new accounts on-premise be associated with the Office 365 accounts?
Or is there a altogether better way of achieving this migration?
Thanks
Mark
